SOUTH COTABATO — FORMER PBA star Joseph Yeo couldn’t join his teammates from Manila in time for the Stars’ game against Southern team and fellow expansion MPBL squad Davao Occidental Tigers.
The Stars hardly missed his services though as Roger Yap and co. were able to get the job done.
But fans who want to see “The Ninja” back in action might get a glimpse of him on Friday, according to team owner Roman Ang.
“He’ll play on Friday,” Ang told FOX Sports Philippines in an exclusive interview.
Yeo and Yap were among the ex-pros seeing action for the Stars, who made a good impression in front of the appreciative crowd at the Polomolok Gymnasium here.
Yap, who acted as playing coach in the absence of PBA Hall of Famer Philip Cezar, looks forward teaming up with his old rival.
“First time ko makaka-teammate si Joseph Yeo, kasi kalaban kami sa PBA before. Ako naman sa Manila, yung laro ko point guard, si Joseph dos ang laro niya. Pero kapag may time, nagpapalitan kami. Kapag wala ako sa loob, siya dapat magdala sa ibang players. Sa mga bata. I-guide mo sila dapat, kasi hindi pa sila experienced,” said Yap.
Aside from Yeo and Yap, other ex-pros in the line up of Manila are Riel Cervantes and Marcy Arellano.
