Basketball never stops for the MPBL, which will unveil its new prolonged season that could last up to 11 months.
MPBL commissioner Kenneth Duremdes revealed this development during the meeting with the 25 squads Wednesday night at the Raffles Hotel in Makati.
“It could last nine to 11 months, including the playoffs,” Duremdes informed team representatives.
The season, which begins on June 12, will have teams playing in a single round robin.
Pending the signing of Basilan and the latest team which showed interest, Sta. Rosa, teams will have at least 23 games each.
From the original three times a week, playdates were given an additional day of schedule.
Game days will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Game telecast begins at 7 pm for the first game and 9 pm for the main game.
