Oliver Almadro is new Ateneo women’s volleyball head coach

Former Ateneo men’s volleyball mentor Oliver Almadro is now the women’s team head coach.

Per ABS-CBN News sports reporter Camille Naredo, Almadro was tapped to coach the women’s team after the departure of Thai head coach Tai Bundit as announced after its semi-finals loss against Far Eastern University in Season 80.

With this development, the men’s volleyball team of Ateneo will now be headed by long-time assistant head coach and former Ateneo men’s member, Timmy Sto. Tomas.

Almadro is the engineer behind the men’s team success as they bagged a three-peat from Seasons 77 to 79 before bowing down to eventual champions National University in Season 80.

Bundit, meanwhile, bade goodbye to the Lady Eagles den after taking the shots for five years. It was during his time that the Lady Eagles achieved a back-to-back crowns in Season 76 and 77 and gave Ateneo its best finish in recent years.
