Lester Prosper will shore up San Miguel’s frontline in the upcoming Terrific 12 East Asia Super League happening on September 17 to 22 in Macau, and he is more than thrilled to continue to show what he’s got.
San Miguel, along with Talk ‘N’ Text and Blackwater will compete in the said tournament as they’ll go up against some of the best professional clubs in Asia.
Fresh from winning it all in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, SMB comes in with lofty expectations after fielding in both Lester Prosper and Dez Wells – who will be their on-boarding reinforcement for the Governors’ Cup.
Prosper, who continues to fine-tune his game overseas, savors the opportunity to team up with the likes of June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross, Terrence Romeo, and Alex Cabagnot.
“I feel honored and humbled [to be picked by San Miguel]. I’m just waiting to get in the lab with my guys and get to work,” said Prosper in an exclusive interview with FOX Sports Philippines.
“They are a well-put-together team that’s built on skills, grit, and experience. This is an amazing opportunity to learn from these guys and mirror what makes them champions,” he added.
Prosper took the PBA by storm after averaging 33.6 points 16.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game while playing for the Columbian Dyip last conference. He finished fourth in the race for the Best Import Award with 52.7 SPs.
The international journeyman remarkably shot around 40-percent from three-point land in the import-laden conference – which will certainly be a welcome addition to Coach Leo Austria’s system.
Despite having a lineup oozing with firepower, San Miguel will have their work cut out for them. And Prosper reiterates that having the right mindset will give his team the edge for the upcoming tournament.
“I plan on bringing more firepower and be an amazing teammate to help them in any way I can,” shared Prosper.
“It’s basketball. You always want to play hard, smart, and aggressive. If you have that attitude, you’ll always have a chance,” he ended.
