Dallas Mavericks veteran Dirk Nowitzki showed that he is still a force to be reckoned with as he dropped 40 points in his side’s 132-120 win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Nowitzki, who made 16 of the 26 shots he attempted, was well supported by Deron Williams, who scored 31 points and dished out 16 assists.
Damian Lillard scored 26 points for the Trail Blazers.

The Toronto Raptors downed the Orlando Magic 105-100 to win their fourth consecutive game.
DeMar DeRozan guided the Raptors to victory with 25 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Victor Oladipo and Evan Fournier scored 21 points apiece for the Magic.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics snapped their four-game losing streak with a 120-105 win over the struggling Philadelphia 76ers.
Isaiah Thomas starred in the Celtics’ win as he scored 26 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists.
Hollis Thompson was the Sixers’ top-scorer with 18 points.
A 22-point night from Jrue Holiday saw the New Orleans Pelicans stun the Los Angeles Clippers 109-105.
Holiday, who also dished out eight assists, received some excellent support from Omer Asik as he dropped 15 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.
Chris Paul and J.J. Redick scored 24 points each for the Clippers.

Over at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, the Utah Jazz triumphed over the Milwaukee Bucks 94-85.
Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 18 points, while Rudy Gobert scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Jabari Parker had 19 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks.
DeMarcus Cousins had a stellar night as he led the Sacramento Kings to an 88-80 win over the New York Knicks.
Cousins scored 24 points on 11 of 23 shooting and also pulled down 20 rebounds in his side’s win.
Robin Lopez recorded a double-double in the Knicks’ loss, which consisted of 23 points and 20 rebounds.
