Bahio, Sinclair power Batang Gilas past Singapore

San Beda College commit John Bryle Bahio starred in the Batang Gilas 87-52 beating over Singapore to stay unbeaten in the SEABA U-18 Championships Tuesday night at Indonesia.

The future Red Lion had 16 points, hauled down 6 boards that came with 2 steals and 2 block shots in just 17 minutes. Joshua Sinclair put up a near double-double of 11 markers and 9 rebounds while Pedro III Alfaro added 12 as well to spearhead a balanced scoring attack of the coach Mike Oliver-led squad.

V Lavin Raj topscored for Singapore with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Team captain Quianyu Justin Yeo also scored 9 points.

The Batang Gilas will face host team Indonesia tomorrow.

The top 3 finishers in the tournament will represent the region in the FIBA U-18 Asia Championship this coming July at Iran. – By Bryan John Ulanday
