Steph Curry’s most ridiculed signature shoe gets major upgrade

When Stephen Curry’s all-white, low top “Chef” Curry 2s dropped earlier this year, we all got a good laugh out of it.

The internet roasted the plain-looking “dad shoes” — to the point that even network television (and the WWE!) got in on the act. And while Curry tried to tell the world that his kicks were fire, we all knew better.

But over the weekend, we learned that the Curry 2 low top is getting a pretty major upgrade as part of the “Lux” line of lifestyle-inspired Curry shoes:

Those are definitely an upgrade from the “Chef” colorway; there’s certainly no way they were going to get any worse. With that said, we’ll probably pass on copping a pair. If you’re interested, however, the Lux low top is slated to go on sale in New York City on August 5th, with a wide release the next day, according to Sole Collector.com. The shoes will retail for $140.
