Ginebra survives Alaska in Governors Cup

Justin Brownlee carried Brgy. Ginebra down the stretch as the Kings weathered a gallant Alaska fightback, 109-104, Friday night at the Big Dome to advance to the semifinals of the 2016 PBA Governors Cup.

Brownlee had 11 of his 29 points in the final 5:30 to avert a Ginebra meltdown after almost squandering a 26-point lead in the third quarter.

The Kings will face sister team and defending champion San Miguel Beermen in the semis.

Brownlee’s fourth quarter explosion preserved LA Tenorio’s big night as the Kings’ playmaker finished with a personal conference-high 32 points that went with six rebounds and four assists.
