St. Benilde leans on 4th quarter run to turn back hapless Mapua

St. Benilde leaned on a fourth quarter outburst to outlast Mapua, 74-69 in a battle of cellar dwellers in the 93rd NCAA men’s basketball tournament on Tuesday at the Filoil Arena in San Juan City.

JJ Domingo dropped a career-high 24 points while Senegalese Clement Leutcheu had 14 points and 17 caroms, though it was the Blazers’ fourth quarter effort that spelled the biggest difference.

“We’re supper happy, super enthusiastic because our hardwork is starting to pay off,” said St. Benilde coach TY Tang.
