Vengeful La Salle manhandles UST in UAAP men’s basketball

Defending champion De La Salle came back with a vengeance as it manhandled the woeful University of Santo Tomas, 115-86  in their UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball match on lSaturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

  • Strong bounce back: Coming off a weeklong respite since bowing to University of the Philippines, 98-87, that saw its 3-game winning start come to a halt, the Green Archers wasted no time disposing off the Growling Tigers quick after opening a 37-21 lead early in the second quarter.
  • Big Ben: Ben Mbala displayed his usual overpowering effort after tallying 29 points and 9 rebounds. Andrei Caracut added 14 and 6 assists while Leonard Santillan chipped in 13 for La Salle, which improved to 4-1.
  • Still winless:  The Tigers extended their winless campaign for the season after dropping to 0-6.
