It was the final moments of Game 3 in the UAAP Season 60 Juniors Basketball between the Ateneo Blue Eaglets and the UST Tiger Cubs. The year was 1997 and it was probably one of the closest end-games for high-school basketball.
Ateneo was leading by only two points, with the scores at 68-66, but has been messing up their plays late in the match while UST was gaining momentum in its bid for a comeback.
But just a few seconds before time expired, Enrico Villanueva made the steal that proved to be the deciding factor for Ateneo to win the series.
What happened next was a hilarious scene of sorts as fans started to invade the hardwood celebrating. Problem is, there was still a full second left in the game!
That prompted the announcer to request the fans to get back to their places as the game was not yet done.
In the end, the Blue Eaglets were crowned champions but that scene will definitely be remembered as one of the most hilarious ones in the history of UAAP.
