After MPBL stint, Jessie Saitanan finds way back in PBA via TNT

JESSIE Saitan is one of those players from the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League who’s waiting for a call up from a PBA team.

After playing a conference for the Imus Bandera-GLC Truck and Equipment, the burly frontliner has found his way back to the PBA via the TNT Ka Tropa.

A physical, wide-bodied 6-5 center who can shoot from long range, Saitanan is like living a dream and on Wednesday, he got a chance to play in a tune up game for the Ka Tropa, who went up against the Alaska Aces.

For Saitanan, the MPBL was like a step ladder he used to get a second chance of making it to the big league.

“Malaking tulong yung MPBL kasi doon ako nakita ng coaching staff kung paano maglaro. Kaya siguro nila ako pinapunta sa ensayo dahil sa nakita nila kung paano ako maglaro sa MPBL,” Saitanan told in an exclusive interview.

“Atsaka yung dati kong mga coach, natulungan nila ako paano makarating ulit dito.”

Picked up previously by GlobalPort two years ago, Saitanan is so happy to be back in a league where the big boys play.

“Masaya akong nakabalik maglaro sa PBA para sa TNT. Ibang reality,” added Saitanan. “Inaayos na nila yung kontrata ko. Binigyan nila ako ng half year contract. Kapag maganda ipinakita ko, iri-renew nila ulit ako.”

Saitanan is joining a banged up TNT team which will miss the services of former PBA MVP Kelly Williams and Anthony Semerad.
