Basketball dunk sees defender sent straight to the bench

From sweatpants to gowns.

Following the footsteps of fellow courtside reporter turned beauty queen Laura Lehmann, Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League courtside reporter Maria Gianna Margarita Llanes is set to take her beauty and talent in the Miss World Philippines 2018 later this year.

The 23-year old stunner is among the 37 of 40 official candidates announced by the Miss World Philippines Organization yesterday.

In a post through her Facebook yesterday, Llanes confirmed her participation in the prestigious pageant.

The Ateneo de Manila alum expressed her gratitude for the people who support her and promised to work hard to make them proud.

Llanes is no stranger to limelight as she was a former Video Jock at MYX Philippines after winning the MYX VJ Search 2014.

While still in college, she served as courtside reporter during the UAAP Season 77, reporting for the Adamson Falcons.

Miss World Philippines 2018 is the 8th edition of Miss World Philippines, which was previously won by Lehman in 2017, that will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on October 7.
