Finally, the playoffs are here for the Metro Basketball League Division 3.

It was another blowout victory by Nougat against We Are Marawi, 67-114. It was a gallant effort by We Are Marawi but Nougat proved to be too much for them. Nougat tallied 17 three-pointers in the game that gave them the boost and a double-double performance from Johndel Joves.

The second game was the closest as Grundstein Construction came on top against Escaler. They stood their ground and secured a 102-98 victory. Gerome Cahansa and Manuel Canlapan were the brightest spot for Escaler as they combined with 59 points but the tandem of Kenneth Moccon and Nathaniel Dela Cruz delivered in the last seconds to claim the win.

A more physical and emotional match was on display the third game between Embassy Whiskey and Varda Marilag Deans. The Deans proved that their system and pressure defense were keys to securing a win over the experience of Embassy Whiskey.

The last game was between BNT Apples and Red’s Autocare. Despite the good first quarter of BNT Apples, Red’s Autocare proved why they are on top of the standings and why they are still undefeated with the help of Michael Maccabalug who finishes the game with an almost quadruple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists, and 7 steals. Red’s Autocare stayed undefeated in a 103-61 victory.

Two game days left for the first chapter of MetroBasket and four teams left. It will be Nougat against Varda Marilag Deans and Red’s Autocare against Grundstein Construction in the semi-finals.
