The Kings guard apparently was angry at Blazers C Jusuf Nurkic for a hard screen he set in the second half of Sacramento’s 115-107 win.

Kings guard Iman Shumpert, apparently unhappy with Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic, tried to get into the Portland locker room late Monday night but was stopped by security, according to multiple reports in Portland.

Shumpert apparently was angry at Nurkic for a hard screen he set in the second half of the Kings’ 115-107 win.

“Some stuff needed to be between me and him, a conversation between two men,” Shumpert said (per The Associated Press). “Some stuff happened out there that we needed to have a conversation about. That’s it.”

According to The AP, Nurkic shrugged it off, taking a dig at Shumpert, who at 28 is in his ninth season in the league.

“I’m not going to worry about it. He’s going into retirement soon,” said Nurkic, who is 24. “I’m not going to worry about a guy who’s going into retirement soon.”

Shumpert, called for a technical foul in the third quarter, was going back and forth with a member of the Blazers’ security staff during the second half of the game, the Sacramento Bee reported. He later was walked to the Sacramento bench by a teammate after arguing with Portland’s bench.

After the game, Shumpert apologized via Twitter, pointing to “a great victory against a tested Blazers team.”
