Odom on Mighty Sports stint: ‘This is what I needed to feel alive again’

Stephen Curry on Olympics and Tokyo ambition

After going through hell and back, Lamar Odom is back in the hardwood and he is loving every second of it.

Four years removed from the near fatal drug overdose in 2015 where he suffered multiple strokes, the two-time NBA champion got a second wind in his basketball career through Mighty Sports Philippines in the recently concluded 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship.

Although the team failed to win the tourney and settled for third place, the 39-year-old former Lakers forward kept his head high and expressed his gratitude to everyone who made his return possible.

“Believing in yourself is key to success but you need others to help you to see it too. I Want to express my appreciation to every single team member of @mightysports_ph , coach @charlestiu@femaleagentsr @caesar.wongchuking12 for making me part of the tournament and giving me a starting platform to practice for my comeback to basketball,” Odom wrote on Instagram.

“This experience was what I needed to feel alive again and basketball has always been my light and happy place. Thanks you Philippines, it’s an honour to play for you 🇵🇭🇵🇭 shoutout to my trainers from all over the world helping me to get in shape!,” he added.
