Just as initially planned, Justin Brownlee will return to the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup in May. But before settling back in the Philippines, the one-time Best Import of the Conference will make a quick detour in Lebanon first.

In a post on her social media accounts, esteemed player-agent Sheryl Reyes confirmed that the 30-year-old prolific reinforcement will lend his services to Al-Riyadi in the ongoing Lebanese Basketball League.

#Teamreyes would like to announce that we have officially signed Justin Brownlee for the remaining season of the Lebanon League &will be ready for Ginebra first week of May he is confirmed to play with Ginebra for the 2&3 rd conference so don’t be sad he will be back this May,” Reyes bared on Twitter and Instagram.

His new team, meanwhile, certainly rings a bell for a lot of Filipino fans, as it is the same squad that handed the Brownlee-led Mighty Sports Philippines its only defeat in the Dubai International Basketball Tournament last month.

Al Riyadi is currently ranked third in the tournament standings with a 9-4 record, trading behind Champville and another former Mighty Sports foe Homenetmen Beirut. Brownlee will play in Lebanon for a month-and-a-half and will be available once more upon the conclusion of the current PBA Philippine Cup.

Prior to the announcement, Brownlee was expected to suit up as the third import for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League, alongside Puerto Ricans PJ Ramos and Renaldo Balkman. He was a vital clog to the team’s championship run last year.

“Congratulations @magicbrown32 sudden change of plans but we won’t be joining Alab PIlipinas this year. We got the blessings of @sportsagentcd and boss Al Francis that we will try this new market,” Reyes continued.
