Rain or Shine veteran forward Gabe Norwood made a surprising comeback for the Gilas Pilipinas as he crashed the 24-man pool line-up for the 2016 FIBA Asia Cup.

Norwood was the sole addition to the recent Gilas pool when head coach Chot Reyes unveiled the roster for the Asiad in a tweet Saturday afternoon.

Failing to make it in the practice pool last year after the Gilas program said to bank on youth movement for the 2019 World Cup build-up, the 32-year old Fil-Am forward will return as the oldest member of the squad with two-time Best Point Guard in Asia Jayson Castro just younger by one year.

Naturalized player Andray Blatche was also included in the list, which also mainly features 2017 SEABA Championship holdovers Japeth Aguilar, Terrence Romeo, Calvin Abueva, Raymond Almazan, June Mar Fajardo, Allein Maliksi, Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, Jio Jalalon and Matthew Wright.

New senior team members Kiefer Ravena, Ray Parks, Kobe Paras, and Christian Standhardinger, meanwhile, all got promotions while Meralco and NLEX veteran replacements Baser Amer and Kevin Alas also made it to the list.

Completing the cast are Norbert Torres, Carl Bryan Cruz, Kevin Ferrer, Mike Tolomia, and comebacking Mac Belo.

Injured Russel Escoto and Art Dela Cruz were understandably did not make it to the pool while Ed Daquioag, Ponso Gotladera and Von Pessumal failed to make it to the final roster.
