Sarangani game vs Mindoro scrapped; MPBL denies new ownership

‘They got championship DNA’ – LeBron on why Lakers lost to Raptors

The conflict involving Sarangani/SOCCSKSARGEN’s team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League has yet to be resolved, forcing the league to scrap its game against the Mindoro Tamaraws.

Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes denied reports that a new group had taken over Sarangani/SOCCSKSARGEN team in the fastest growing regional amateur basketball league.

With the team yet to settle its internal conflict, the MPBL decided to cancel the match of Sarangani/SOCCSKSARGEN and Mindoro, making Thursday’s schedule a double header based on the memo signed by Commissioner Duremdes.

This is the second straight game Sarangani/SOCCSKSARGEN’s scheduled match was cancelled as its previous outing against expansion team Iloilo was also scrapped by the league.

First game of the scheduled double header at the Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor is set at 6:30 p.m. featuring Bulacan and Bicol while the host team Strikers will go up against the Davao Occidental Tigers at 8:30 p.m.
