FRANCIS Camacho had a breakout performance while ex-pro Mac Baracael got the job done in the endgame as the Mindoro Tamaraws nipped the SOCCSKSARGEN Marlins, 91-87, in the MPBL Lakan Season at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex Friday night.
Picked up from the Pasig squad in the offseason, Camacho unloaded 32 points before Baracel took over the cudgels down the stretch as the Tamaraws snapped a three-game losing skid.
Mindoro improved its win-loss record to 4-7 in the southern division of the tournament put up by Senator Manny Pacquiao with PBA legend and former MVP Kenneth Duremdes serving as commissioner.
Baracael scored the last three points of the game, all coming from the charity stripes, to ensure the win for the Justin Tan-mentored Tamaraws.
Rodel Vaygan scored 18 points and dished out six assists while Baracael had a double-double performance of 16 points and 15 boards as the Tamaraws had a conscious effort grabbing the rebounds and winning the battle over their counterparts, 45-36.
Mindoro also got more second-chance points, 25-11.
