The MPBL on late Friday night has approved the trade that would send ex-pros Leo Najorda and Alfonso Gottladera to the Pasig-Sta. Lucia Realtors for Jonathan Ballon, Wilson Bartolome, and John Bautista.
Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, deputy commissioner Zaldy Realubit, operations head Enmer Oreta and league founder and chief executive officer Senator Manny Pacquiao deliberated on the trade and in the end, they reached an agreement to approve the two-for-three trade between Bataan and Pasig.
This is the second trade transaction approved by the MPBL this week and the league even extended it to a week more.
Najorda, a multi-titled champion in the PBA, was part of the southern division champions Davao Occidental Tigers before deciding to join the Bataan Risers in the offseason.
But Najorda barely saw action as he was one of those who had troubles with Zetapro, which previously managed Bataan’s squad.
Along with Gottladera, a former player of the NLEX Road Warriors, the two searched for teams to play and they ended up with the Realtors, an up and coming team, which has been making strides this season.
“In the end, Senator Manny decided to approve the trade,” Commissioner Duremdes told FOX Sports Philippines.
