BACOOR — RJ Ramirez was playing in a zone on Thursday night in front of the Bacoor Strikers’ home crowd here at the Strike Gymnasium.
Little did he know, he would end up having a perfect game and keeping the Strikers’ winning streak which has now extended to seven games.
Ramirez made all of his 11 shots from the field and all of his four free-throw attempts on his way to finishing with 28 points, carrying the Strikers to a dominant 88-71 triumph over the Cebu Sharks in the MPBL Lakan Season.
The shifty guard made 9-of-9 from the 2-point region and made 2-for-2 from beyond the arc. His sizzling performance caught the fancy of everyone, most notably head coach Chris Gavina.
“I never thought he had a perfect game. All I know was he’s playing hot,” Gavina told FOX Sports Philippines. “I’ve never coached anyone who had a perfect game, so this is something great and I’m happy for RJ.”
Ramirez added that this was the best game he has ever played, but just like his coach, he was unaware that he played a perfect game.
“I felt like hot,” added Ramirez. “All In know was I was shooting hot, but didn’t realize until the stats was given that I had a perfect game. It’s beautiful and more special because we won.
