Bicol arrested a long losing skid and bounced back in a big way by turning back host team Batangas City, while General Santos City and Navotas hurdled their respective rivals with ease in the MPBL Lakan Season Tuesday night at the Batangas State University.

Alwyn Alday stepped up big and knocked down timely baskets to propel the Volcanoes to a 76-71 win.

The LCC Mall-backed franchise picked up its eighth win in 20 games and remained at eighth spot of the southern division of this tournament put up by Senator Manny Pacquiaoa with PBA legend and former MVP Kenneth Duremdes serving as commissioner.

Alday finished with 19 points and picked up four steals, propelling the Volcanoes in spoiling the Athletics on front of their home court.

Earlier, General Santos City and Navotas brought down their respective rivals to get back on the winning track.

The Warriors of General Santos City dumped the Quezon City Capitals, 124-103, as Delmar Mahaling and Pamboy Raymundo each dished out double-double performances for their squad.

Mahaling finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds while Raymundo came away with 22 markers on top of a game-high 18 assists, steering the Warriors to their 14th win in 20 games to stay on top four of the southern division.

Navotas ripped the Binan City Heroes, 110-98, in the other game.

Renz Gonzales had a career-high 28 points for the Clutch, hitting a steady 9-of-13 from the field. He was ably backed up by Richard Bondoc who added 23 markers.
