Ex-Ginebra slotman Marlon Basco moves to new MPBL team GenSan from Caloocan

Denver’s Murray hails Jokic partnership after NBA play-off win

SOUTH COTABATO — Looks like former Ginebra slotman Marlon Basco will be reunited with his old teammates from the Davao Eagles in the defunct MBA.

The 6-foot-6 Basco is headed to join expansion team General Santos City from his previous MPBL squad Caloocan.

“OK ako dito kasi makakasama ko mga dati kong teammates sa Davao Eagles,” Basco told FOX Sports Philippines in an exclusive interview.

Basco was left unsigned by the Supremos, forcing him to look for opportunities elsewhere.

The veteran center tried out for the Marikina Shoemasters but couldn’t get his release from the Supremos camp.

But with his contract already ended, Basco looked for other options and found a spot in the Gen San Warriors, one of the expansion squads from the Visayas and Mindanao.

Basco felt at home here and justified his reasons for leaving the Supremos.

“Wala naman akong kontrata eh, kaya OK lang na lumipat ako,” added Basco.
