IT’S been awhile since we’ve last heard or seen Michael Galinato.
The 6-foot-7, former Adamson stalwart will be the latest addition to the rebuilding Zamboanga Valientes-MLV in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
Yacob Ati, team owner of the Valientes, confirmed this development to FOX Sports Philippines in an exclusive online interview.
According to Ati, around 50 players showed up in a series of tryouts of the Valientes and was fortunate to find out that Galinato was among those who vied for spots in the roster. Immediately, the team took notice of the ex-big man who played in the UAAP several years ago.
“We were surprised that he showed up. Meydo tumaba na siya pero pwede pa naman. Mga ilang weeks lang makukundisyon ulit yan,” added Ati.
But Galinato’s best moments came back in high school where he teamed up with Japeth Aguilar at Mapua.
The Valientes are on the process of finalizing their roster. The team already got commitment from Von Lanete, brother of Chico and Garvo, who are both playing in the PBA now. Also in the team, which is supported by RPS are Grevani Rublico, ex-pros Reed Juntilla, Leo Avenido and Jonathan Pareno, and Patrick Cabahug.
