A FAMILIAR face showed up during the preseason games of the Valenzuela Classic in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
His strong physique and ability to stop the big men were indications that ex-PBA player Chad Alonzo is gearing to get back into action and help his new team, the Valenzuela Classic, in their MPBL title campaign.
“Not only he’s one of the smartest out there, he was also the strongest. I think he’s our own version of Draymond Green,” Valenzuela coach Chris Gavina told FOX Sports Philippines.
Alonzo, a 6-foot-3 forward and a PBA journeyman, will take over the spot vacated by forward Mon Mabayo.
In the preseason, got the chance to experience the kind of competition he expects in the MPBL.
“Yung Valenzuela team, ang ganda ng samahan form players, coaches and management,” added Alonzo, who played for Purefoods, Burger King, Barako Bull, GlobalPort, and Kia in the PBA.
