PBA, UAAP champ Duncil makes cage return to play for QC Capitals

Denver’s Murray hails Jokic partnership after NBA play-off win

REMEMBER Jojo Duncil, the Finals MVP, who keyed University of Santo Tomas’ championship run in 2006?

The versatile guard will make his return in the cage scene with the Quezon City Capitals in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Niño Manalo Dionisio, team manager of the Black Mamba-backed Capitals, confirmed this development to FOX Sports Philippines in an exclusive online interview.

“We’ve already come to terms with Jojo Duncil,” wrote Dionisio.

Duncil was a key figure in the Tigers’ 2006 triumph over the Ateneo Blue Eagles. As a pro, he played for the Barako Bull Energy, but in 2011, he got a big break of being part of the champion squad once more when he got traded to the Petron Blaze Boosters, then the team carried by the old San Miguel Beer franchise.

The inclusion of Duncil means the Capitals will have two ex-pros playing for the squad this coming season. Dionisio earlier confirmed that they are also set to sign up former SMART-Gilas player and ex-Shopinas center Magi Sison.
