LOOKS like the Zamboanga Valientes are not done yet with their aggressive build up for the coming season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
As celebrity baller Gerald Anderson made his entry to the Marikina Shoemasters, the Valientes also took a turn towards that direction by tapping former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Christian Morones.
For those watching PBB, Morones was known to be the “Ligtas Challenge King.”
A varsity player from Zamboanga, he will be one of the nine homegrown players that the team will field for the coming season, according to team owner Yacob Ati.
“I decided to sign Morones because he has good outside shooting. Shooter na yan sa Zamboanga and he is very smart sa court,” said Ati.
“In PBB, he showed how tough he is and pass all the challenges. He is very fit with the team’s system. Zamboanga Valientes fans are very excited to see him play.
Supported by MLV and RPS, the no.1 migration service in the country, Zamboanga earlier signed up ex-pros Reed Juntilla, Leo Avenido, Jonathan Pareno and Patrick Cabahug.
The team also has big man Michael Galinato, Grevani Rublico and Von Lanete, brother of PBA’s Chico and Garvo.
