REMEMBER Noy Javier, the former star player of University of Perpetual Help?
After embarking a career in the international basketball scene, Javier is coming home to play for the Zamboanga Valientes-Family Sardines in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
The 6-foot-1 Javier will be making a return in the local circuit and will renew his rivalry with some of his old rivals in the collegiate circuit who were given a new lease in life thru basketball.
Team owner Jacob Atio decided to include Javier in the roster submitted just recently in time for the coming MPBL season and looks forward to see the former collegiate star rediscover his old form.
Known for his deadly shooting from the perimeter, Javier was part of the Perpetual Help team that reached the finals of the NCAA tournament more than a decade ago, but the team lost to the Philippine Christian University Dolphins of Jayson Castro, Gabby Espinas, Beau Belga and Rob Sanz.
“He’s well-loved by the Perpetual Help community and we’re proud to have him on our team,” wrote Ati in an exclusive online interview.
Ati added that they’ve also signed Rob Sanz, the former Purefoods player, who also saw action for the Imus Bandera-GLC Truck and Equipment last season.
The Valientes will be led by ex-pros Reed Juntilla, Javier, Jonathan Parreno, Sanz and Leo Avenido as well as local bets Von Lanete, Arden Guiyab and Revanni Rublico.
