REIGNING Mutya Ning Kapampangan winner Ann Carlisle Castro will be the muse of the Pampanga Lanterns in the opening ceremony of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on June 12 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Simon Mangio, team manager of the Lanterns, confirmed this to FOX Sports Philippines.
The 19-year-old pride of Sta. Monica, Lubao, Pampanga is happy to be chosen representing his province in the fastest growing regional basketball league in the country. The Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Ms. Castro couldn’t be more proud.
“This is my first time to be a representative in a nationwide level,” wrote Ms. Castro in a text message. “I guess I’m overwhelmed since I am a lab scientist and going out of my usual norm is a great experience and at the same time, a challenge that I should gracefully untie.”
“To represent my own province, Pampanga, is an honor since it’s always a part of my speech that I would be ready at any cost and without ifs and buts to raise the flag and pride of Pampanga.”
