LOOKS like the Mandaluyong El Tigre is going to get an additional help from an ex-PBA player.
Josan Nimes, a journeyman from the PBA, is set to see action for the El Tigre on July 18 when the team battles the Navotas Clutch at the People’s Center in Bataan.
This was confirmed by Mandaluyong head coach Mac Cuan to FOX Sports Philippines in an exclusive interview.
“He was ready to play as early as our last game against Pasig,” Cuan said. “But he’ll play in our next game.”
Nimes just got his release from his previous PBA squad, but even before that, he had already attended the practices of the El Tigre and had joined the team’s tune up matches before the start of the season. It’s not surprising he was included in Mandaluyong line up even before the start of the MPBL Datu Cup.
“He played na sa mga tune ups namin and practiced with us. I think he can showcase his real potential here katulad nung ginagawa niya sa Mapua before,” added Mandaluyong center Mac Andaya. “Maganda takbo ng team naming kasi everybody know their roles. Coach Mac makes sure we are on the same page every day sa practice and ganun din sa actual game. Walang inggitan, walang sapawan. Good environment.”
Nimes is likely to play the small forward spot for the El Tigre and provide additional firepower to the team led by Ray Parks, who had a triple-double performance last time around.
