More than just Basketball: Pasay Voyagers share light moments with fans

Big Baller Brand in trouble? Lonzo Ball’s manager on IG dumping his sneakers…

In their willingness to show appreciation for the support of the people and to encourage more fans to watch their games, the Pasay Voyagers had spent a day with fans in an event organised by the city government last September 8th.

Despite absorbing yet another bitter loss at the hands of the inaugural champions, Batangas Athletics, last September 6 at the Cuneta Astrodome, four members of the Pasay Voyagers brushed themselves off and stood up from defeat to grace their first-ever meet and greet event held at the Jose Rizal Elementary School gymnasium. The event also coincided with the feast day of San Rafael – where the barangay organized a 3-point shoot out competition.

Alfred Sedillo, Ron Lastimosa, Jaypee Belencion and homegrown talent, Harold Lomtong assisted the participants of the shoot out event and then later on paired up with chosen members of the audience for a 2 on 2 Basketball Challenge.

The Voyagers battle each other out with the help of their fans on which Lastimosa and his paired bested the three other teams, finishing with 32 points including a mid-court jumper  that amazed the crowd all the more. Harold Lomtong’s Team Homegrown came in close second, scoring 31 points.

Alfred Sedillo and Jaypee Belencion’s team finished off with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

All of the winners in the shoot out and the 2 on 2 basketball challenge were awarded with cash prizes along with the official team shirt from Gorilla Sportswear by John Cozprint.

“In behalf of the Pasay Voyagers, I’d like to express our gratitude to Congresswoman Emi Calixto-Rubiano who has been so supportive of us since day one. It is through her, along with the barangay officials in the San Rafael district that we were given the opportunity to share light moments with our fans,” said team manager Marc Camasura.

The Pasay Voyagers are looking forward to having another meet and greet event, this time with the rest of the team present. In the meantime, they focus back to training as they prepare to defend their home court anew, this time against the Davao Occidental Tigers on September 19th at 9 PM.
