‘The series don’t start till you win on the road’ – Lillard on Blazers 2-0 lead against Oklahoma

PAOLO Hubalde, the only player in the MPBL who has a lifetime contract for the Valenzuela Classic, played a career game on Tuesday night at the Cuneta Astrodome, towing his squad to a 95-88 triumph over the Pasig Pirates.

The son of former PBA MVP and league legend Freddie Hubalde, finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists as he concentrated on making everybody look good in the Classic’s latest win. He also completed six steals to cap his brilliant game.

His all-around play making drew the best game from Ford Ruaya, who also had a breakout performance, finishing with 24 points and nine boards.

The Classic also got solid games from ex-pro Chad Alonzo, who added 14 points and Jaymar Gimpayan, who contributed 1o.

Because of the balance production displayed by the Classic, the team went on to notch its fifth win in 14 games. Valenzuela moved up to ninth spot in the team standings.

Pasig absorbed its 11th loss in 13 games and fell deeper at the bottom of the standings.
