Caloocan outlasts Valenzuela, keeps flickering playoff hopes alive

‘The series don’t start till you win on the road’ – Lillard on Blazers 2-0 lead against Oklahoma

MALOLOS — Ex-pros Almond Vosotros and Paul Sanga combined for 54 points to power the Caloocan Supremos to a hard-earned 90-87 win over Valenzuela in a tightly-fought encounter in the MPBL Datu Cup Saturday night at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here.

Vosotros knocked in 33 points, dished out eight assists, pulled down six rebounds and completed four steals in an all-around performance that inspired the Supremos in picking up their sixth win in 19 games.

The Longrich-backed Supremos had a lot of catching up to do as they are still in 12th place.

Valenzuela’s latest loss dropped the squad into a tie for ninth to 10th places with the Pampanga Lanterns-ADG Construction with the same 7-11 win-loss slates.

Sanga added 21 markers, including five triples, to provide Vosotros the much-needed help.

Also stepping up big was Rene Pacquiao, who ended up with 10 points and six boards.
