IMUS — Host team Imus barely broke out a sweat in whipping Parañaque, 95-77, in the MPBL Datu Cup late Friday night at the Imus Sports Complex.
Five players led by James Castro, finished in double figures for the GLC Truck and Equipment-backed Bandera, who now improved their win-loss record to 9-8 and climbed to solo fourth spot in the southern division of this tournament put up by Senator Manny Pacquiao with PBA legend and former MVP Kenneth Duremdes serving as commissioner.
Castro finished with 15 points, the same output produced by Jonathan Rivera.
Ian Melencio poured in 13 while Genmar Bragais and Raniel Diwa had 12 apiece for the Bandera, who led from start to finish in asserting their might against the Patriots.
The Bandera scored 37 points off the 22 turnovers committed by their younger rivals, who are still searching for identity after massive unloading of key players, including Harold Arboleda, Robin Roño, Ryusei Koga and Mac Montilla, among others.
