MORE than a million in cash prizes, a brand new car and 26 motorbikes will be given away to all the winners in the coming MPBL All-Star Game which will unfurl on March 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
No less than founder and chief executive officer Senator Manny Pacquiao made the announcement during the meeting with the team owners.
The winning team in the first ever MPBL All-Star game pitting the North and South selection will be receiving P500,000. Coaches of the winning squad will also receive cash prizes outside of the purse the squad will receive. The head coach will get P50,000 while his assistant coach will be given P30,000.
Don Dulay of the Davao Occidental Tigers-Cocolife will call the shots for the South Selection, while he will be assisted by anyone among Al Vergara of Muntinlupa Cagers, Ramon Pido of General Santos City Warriors or Mac Tan of the Batangas Cityh Athletics.
For the Northern Selection, Jojo Lastimosa of the Bataan Risers, Philip Cezar of the Manila Stars, Cholo Villanueva of the Makati Super Crunch and Randy Alcantara of the San Juan Knights are battling for the head coaching chores.
Individual winners in the side events — the Long Distance Three-Point Shootout, the Slam Dunk Competition and the 2-Ball Challenge will also be given prizes as well as the winning team in the North and South All-Stars’ Executive Match.
MPBL ticket holders in Patron A, B and C, Lower Box A, B, C and Upper Box will be entitled to a raffle entry where they will have a chance to win a brand new car and 26 motor bikes during the said event.
