Munti, Navotas to resume last 1:34 of reset game on Saturday in Angeles City

Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard nails nine 3’s in a row!

After months of waiting, the last 1:34 of the game between the Muntinlupa Cagers and the Navotas Clutch will be resumed on Saturday, 5:30 p.m., at the Angeles University Foundation Arena, just before the scheduled double header of the MPBL Datu Cup.

MPBL commissioner Kenneth Duremdes in a memo issued to the teams involved, has informed the two teams of the resumption of the match.

After consultation with technical head George Magsino, both teams can now continue their match. However, as per FIBA rules, only the players who saw action during the previous game will be allowed to play.

That means acquisition of players made by both squads right after their halted match will not be allowed to play—among them include Jai Reyes and Marlon Gomez of Navotas and Ryusei Koga and Kyle Neypes of Muntinlupa among others.

In the memo, the Commissioner’s Office listed the eligible players to see action and they are the following:

Navotas — AJ Vicencio, Jay Javelosa, RR Ricafort, Gino Jumao-as, Donald Gumaru, Michole Sorela, Clint Nacino, Romel David, Darrel Ceruela, and Joe Trinidad.

Muntinlupa — Dave Moralde, Chester Saldua, Regie Boy Basibas, Alan Mangahas, Andrei Stevens, Chris Lalata, Dhon Reverente, Juan Salaveria, Kevin Buenaflor, JG Ylagan, Chito Jaime, John Kervin Ortuoste and Felix Apreku.

The game was ordered to be resumed as it has a bearing for both squads. Muntinlupa is currently in third spot of the southern division of the tournament and locked in a three-way tie for second to fourth places with Batangas City and General Santos City.
