Lakers down Bulls; Whiteside stars in Heat win

Los Angeles Lakers edged out Chicago bulls and the Miami Heat took down the Denver Nuggets in an eventful day of NBA action.

The Lakers showed themselves to be the hungrier team as they beat Chicago Bulls 96-90 despite playing their second match in as many days.

It was the Lakers 10th win of the season to even their record at 10-10 despite a season-high of 24 turnovers.

Patty Mills helped San Antonio Spurs overturn a hefty deficit to down Dallas Mavericks 94-87.

The Mavericks were 60-47 up in the third quarter but Mills’ scored 15 of his 23 points in the fourth to ensure the Spurs won the game.

Hassan Whiteside was the top performer again as Miami Heat swept aside Denver Nuggets by 106-98.

Whiteside scored 25 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, while Wayne Ellington bagged 22 points and Tyler Johnson returned to sink 18 points.

Elsewhere, Oklahoma City Thunder topped the Washington Wizards 126-115 in overtime with Russell Westbrook the star of the show with 35 points, while Brandon Knight’s 23 points secured the Phoenix Suns a tight 109-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
