NBA trade rumors: Rockets offer 4 first-round picks for Jimmy Butler

Denver’s Murray hails Jokic partnership after NBA play-off win

The Rockets really, really want to acquire Jimmy Butler.

According to ESPN, Houston is putting a package together to get Butler from the Timberwolves, and that offer includes four future first-round picks.

This is the maximum number of first-round picks allowed in a deal by the NBA. Players will likely be included as well.

Lottery protection on the picks would reportedly be limited.

Houston would attempt to re-sign Butler if it acquired him in a deal, the ESPN report stated.

Butler requested a trade before the season. Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor reportedly told Butler he would do all he could to deal him when he got an offer he liked, ESPN also stated.

The four-time All-Star is averaging 24.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists in four games this season.
