The Raptors are hoping Kyle Lowry will return soon.
The 32-year-old guard has missed seven of Toronto’s last eight games and he did not play against the Bulls on Sunday (Monday, Manila time). Raptors coach Nick Nurse was asked before the matchup with Chicago if the team was concerned about Lowry’s back and quad injuries.
“Yeah, I think a little bit,” Nurse said, via ESPN. “You’re always concerned. You want an All-Star player back as soon as possible. Any of our guys, we want them back as soon as possible … I think we’re positive and hopeful that it’s going in the right direction, and we’ll see him back soon.”
Lowry is averaging 14.4 points and a career-high 9.8 assists in 34.1 minutes per game this season. He’s shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from 3-point range.
The Raptors have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season and entered their matchup against the Bulls with a 26-11 record. However, they’ve dropped two of their last three games.
