Bucks Coach Mike Budenholzer on Giannis Annmpotetokou’s quad and hip injuries: “Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.”
The Bucks were missing one key player during Friday’s 113-106 loss to the Wizards.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was sidelined for the matchup, missing his third game of the season. Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer revealed the early MVP candidate has been dealing with quad and hip injuries after taking a hit a few games back. Antetokounmpo’s right hip is sore, while his left hip is bruised.
“Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious,” Budenholzer said Friday, via the Associated Press. “He got hit a few games ago and kind of been managing it.”
Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 25 points and eight rebounds in Antetokounmpo’s absence against Washington.
Antetokounmpo, in his sixth NBA season, is averaging 26.6 points and 12.8 rebounds while shooting 58.1 percent from the field. He has helped lift the Bucks (29-12) to second in the Eastern Conference behind the Raptors.
