The Lakers continue to struggle from the free-throw line.
Los Angeles made just 16 of its 27 free-throw attempts in its loss to the Cavaliers on Sunday. Nine of those misses came in the fourth quarter.
The team is shooting just 68.3 percent from the free throw line in 2018-19, the worst rate in the league entering play Monday. Should its shooting woes persist, it would be the ninth time in the shot clock era that the Lakers have shot less than 70 percent as a team from the line. No other team has done so more than five times over that span.
Los Angles has shot less than 60 percent from the line in eight games this season, the most in the league. However, it is 4-4 in those games, six of which have come since the start of December.
The Lakers have lost seven of their last 10 games and sit in eighth in the Western Conference standings. They will face the Bulls on Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
