Steve Kerr praises Celtics, says ‘they are one of the best teams in the league’

‘The series don’t start till you win on the road’ – Lillard on Blazers 2-0 lead against Oklahoma

Steve Kerr was impressed by the Celtics.

The Warriors pulled out a narrow 115-111 road win over Boston on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time). Kerr, the fifth-year Golden State coach, praised the Celtics after his team’s victory.

“They are one of the best teams in the league,” Kerr said, via NBC Sports Boston. “They’re great defensively and they’ve got dynamic offensive players. They’re already one of the best.”

The Celtics sit in fifth of the Eastern Conference and trail the first-place Bucks by six games. But, Kerr said there are a “lot of great teams this year.”

“I think the league is better this year than it’s been in a long time,” Kerr said. “But Boston is clearly a great two-way team, and that’s what it takes in the playoffs.”

The West-leading Warriors improved to 35-14 with the win over Boston. They’ll face the Pacers in Indiana on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).
