LeBron James has missed 17 games after sustaining a groin injury against the Warriors on Christmas Day.

The Lakers star forward is expected to play against the Clippers on Thursday, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, which cites unidentified league sources.

Los Angeles has not given an official update on James’ status for Thursday’s game. Originally, James had been ruled out for the matchup, according to multiple reports.
He was upgraded to “doubtful” about three hours before game time.
James has missed 17 games after straining his groin on Christmas Day against the Warriors. Los Angeles went 6-11 in his absence.
James is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 34.6 minutes per game this season.
The Lakers have fallen to 26-25 in his absence and sit in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.
