Forward Chandler Parsons and the Grizzlies appear to have repaired their broken relationship.
Parsons will rejoin the team after the All-Star break and return to the lineup, according to The Athletic, which cited unidentified sources, despite previous reports in January that indicated the two were planning to part ways.
The report comes after the Grizzlies traded Marc Gasol to the Raptors but didn’t reach a deal for Parsons at the trade deadline.
Parsons, 30, who signed a four-year, $94 million contract in 2016, has expressed frustration with his role and spent time away from the team after the franchise made him a healthy inactive, even though he was cleared to play Dec. 21 after missing two months with a knee injury.
An eight-year veteran, Parsons averaged 5.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game in just three appearances before he was shut down with the knee injury.
The Grizzlies are 22-34 and second-to-last in the Western Conference entering Saturday’s (Sunday, Manila time) action.
