Ahanmisi repeats as Obstacle Challenge champion

Rain or Shine sophomore guard Maverick Ahanmisi literally cruised past all the hurdles to remain the ruler of Cloudfone Obstacle Challenge in the first staple side event of the PBA All-Star.

This is the second Skill title for Ahanmisi, who eliminated TNT’s Kris Rosales in the first round before blazing to the final round with just 25.8 ticks in a flawless effort on Friday at the Quezon Convention Center.

“I don’t want to make a mistake, if I make a mistake, it’s hard for me to win it,” said Ahanmisi.

The Fil-Nigerian actually had no pressure on his title defense as he went first in the final round. But it didn’t hamper his speed and accuracy in passing and shooting as he pretty much seal the deal in the get-go.

San Miguel veteran guard Alex Cabagnot was the closest competitor for Ahanmisi after finishing just behind of a second (26.7 seconds). NLEX’s pint-sized Emman Monfort came in third with 27.1 seconds.
