Maliksi beats Tenorio down to last shot in 3-pt Shootout

Shaquille O’Neal goes wild in mosh pit at Tomorrowland

Coming to the event as a first-timer, Star wingman Allein Maliksi finished the Three-Point Shootout like a pro.

Maliksi was crowned as the new PBA All Star Three-Point King on Friday at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.

Maliksi caught fire on his last rack, shooting 4-of-5, including the money ball for 19 points, besting two-time defending champion Terrence Romeo and Ginebra veteran guard LA Tenorio in the final round.

Shooting last in championship round, the Hotshot gunner conquered the pressure set by Tenorio, who scored 18 previously, to top the 12-man field of sharpshooters.

“Actually kagabi pa kinakabahan ako kasi siyempre mga legitimate shooters din yung kalaban ko,” said Maliksi.

Maliksi successfully dethroned Romeo, who was visibly frustrated after finishing third in both rounds, not enough for a three-peat.

Top bets Marcio Lassiter and Matthew Wright, meanwhile, did not even get past the first round after scoring 13 and 8, respectively.
