Smith blasts PBA refs after Game 5 loss

‘They got championship DNA’ – LeBron on why Lakers lost to Raptors

TNT import Joshua Smith just had some few words after the Katropa absorbed a stinging 111-102 loss on Friday that sent his team to a 2-3 hole in their Commissioner’s Cup title showdown with San Miguel.

“PBA officials are terrible,” said Smith straight-faced when asked about his thoughts on Game 5.

When pressed to elaborate by the reporters, the heavyweight import barely had no more opinion.

Instead, he specifically mentioned the jersey number of the referees who called the game.

“PBA officials are terrible. Number 14, 17 and 40,” stressed Smith, who finished 15 points and 7 rebounds but committed 4 fouls in his 28 minutes of action.

TNT was called for 32 fouls compared to 23 of San Miguel Beer, which in turn to 38 trips at the line for their rival.

The loss dampened the arrival of Smith’s newborn baby Jayden, whose name Katropa carried as patch on their jerseys after Kristy, Smith’s girlfriend, in Game 4.
