PBA: Batang Pier rebrands to NorthPort

Raptors return to Canada after days of celebrating NBA title

The Batang Pier will usher in a new era in its franchise history as the team will now be playing as NorthPort in the upcoming 2018 PBA Governor’s Cup.

The change was announced on the team’s social media accounts on Friday.

Coming off a steady Commissioner’s Cup campaign which saw them book the last playoff spot with a 5-6 win-loss record, NorthPort will still be led by Stanley Pringle, who averaged 21.0 points, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 33.2 points per game, and Sean Anthony, who finished with 18.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

2016 was the only year they made the semifinals. Back in that year’s edition of the Philippine Cup, Pringle and Terrence Romeo steered the squad past Ginebra but fell to Alaska in five games.
