HE may be on the other side of the fence, but Letran head coach Jeff Napa couldn’t be any happier after seeing his former player JP Calvo do well for Columbian in their 97-83 win against NorthPort in a tune-up game earlier today.
The diminutive yet speedy guard notched eight points and made a good account for himself as possibly taking over the starting point guard role for the Dyip.
Having coached Calvo for quite a while now, Napa is confident that his former ward would continue to elevate his game in the long run.
As for the Columbian rookie, he credits his exemplary performance to his former mentor’s tutelage when they were together back in the NCAA ranks. Being the only true point guard in the Dyip roster, Calvo doesn’t mind taking on the challenge in trying to lead the team into new heights.
